On Saturday Pence's chief of staff Marc Short said Mr Pence shared what he called "the concerns of millions of Americans about voter fraud and irregularities". This continues the long running disinformation and propaganda campaign begun more than four years ago, as described here:
Republican strategy, he now realized, was to make stuff up, spread it on social media, repeat it in your answers to journalists — even when you know it’s a lie with crumbs of truth mixed in — and then convert whatever controversy arises into go-get-em points with the base, while pocketing for the party a juicy dividend: additional mistrust of the news media to help insulate President Trump among loyalists when his increasingly brazen actions are reported as news.
Today the Washington Post published an article saying they had obtained an audio recording of an hour long call in which Trump continues in this same pattern.

Lies. Demands that people in power repeat these lies as truth. Threats to them if they do not agree that these lies are truth. Conning, and gaining believers, those believers then attack anyone who does not agree that these lies are truth. At this point Trump leads a mob. They are angry. They want everyone to agree with them, for they have The Truth, and everything that did not fall out of the mouth of Trump is a lie. There is no longer any objective truth: there is only what you believe. The escalation from this is into violence. If people will not cooperate and agree that your lies are truth, then action must be taken.
And this is where we are. There have been and will be violent actions taken by people who believe. The Memphis bombing a few days ago, the Homes of Nancy Pelosi and Mitch McConnell vandalized, and now we expect a Proud Boys to protest in Washington DC. The Harrington will be closed January 4, 5 and 6 out of concern for everyone's health and safety. The separately owned and operated Harry's Bar located on the first floor of the hotel, will be closed the 5th and 6th. The cliché, We don't want no trouble, Mister comes to mind. The last time this crowd was in town, they picked fights, and stabbed people outside Harry's. The DC Attorney General is ready, he says.

Rob Leathern, director of product management, said earlier this month on Facebook’s internal network that he would be leaving the company on Dec. 30. His exit had not been previously reported.
Leathern was often the public face of the company’s controversial political advertising policies. Prior to the Nov. 3 U.S. election, Facebook was heavily criticized for allowing misleading claims and conspiracy theories to spread widely on its platforms.
In November, Leathern had tweeted that Facebook did not have “the technical ability in the short term to enable political ads by state or by advertiser.” Subsequently, Facebook lifted a temporary post-election ban on political ads in Georgia ahead of the Jan. 5 runoff that will determine which party controls the U.S. Senate.

The grand jury indicted Pirelli on charges of rape, indecent assault and battery on a person over 14, trafficking of persons for sexual servitude, engaging in sexual conduct for a fee, and three counts of dissemination of obscene matter.
The DA said in the Monday press release that four more female students at the university came forward after the first allegation was made public. They alleged that Pirelli similarly contacted them on social media, including on SeekingArrangement. Prosecutors said he was looking for a woman who would dominate him sexually with a whip.

The conspiracy theory has been tied to real-life danger—but before it entered the mainstream, one man stumbled upon Q in a game of political predictions.
“My first assumption was I must have missed something,” he said. Cage searched but couldn’t find any legitimate articles or even Google groups talking about Comey committing federal crimes. Then he checked Breitbart and other far-right sites. Still nothing. So he made a bet that Comey would not be indicted. And he kept seeing these strange bets: Would a federal charge against Hillary Clinton come by a certain date? What about one against Barack Obama?
The curious thing was that these bets were so consistent. It’s not unusual for an article or tweet to come out and temporarily create unexpected wagers. But day after day, month after month, people were betting on these weird theories. Every six months, a new version of the Clinton-indictment bet came up, and every six months, people bet that she would be charged.
That’s when Cage started paying attention to the PredictIt comments sections, where people were posting snippets of what looked like nonsense to him. And that’s how, years before most people had heard of QAnon, Cage learned that Q is an anonymous figure who claims to have a high-level security clearance and access to inside information about a devil-worshipping deep state.
All of a sudden, the bets made sense: QAnon followers believed that Q had special inside information about the future, and they bet accordingly.
“There were people who were so convicted in these beliefs that they were willing to put hundreds or thousands on the line,” Cage said. “So I started shoveling more and more money in.”

“The egregious ploy to reject electors may enhance the political ambition of some, but dangerously threatens our Democratic Republic. As far as I can tell, the bolded passage is a false statement of fact. The 11 Trump electors evidently did meet at the state capitol on December 14, when they purportedly cast their votes for the Trump/Pence ticket, but their actions were not endorsed by the Arizona legislature. Instead, it appears that they had the support of only 22 Arizona legislators (out of 90), who signed a self-styled “joint resolution” calling on Congress to accept the “alternate 11 electoral votes . . . for Donald J. Trump.”
As noted on the Excess of Democracy blog, the so-called “joint resolution” has no bill number and is not enrolled on any official legislative record. The 22 signatories include only five state senators, who could not possibly constitute a majority of that chamber even under the minimum quorum requirements in the Arizona Constitution. (The resolution was also signed by eight members-elect, who have no legal votes at all.)
Lawyers are entitled to advocate zealously for their clients, perhaps even to the point of desperate repetition. But they must draw the line at false statements of fact.
