A group of young Black Lives Matters protesters harassed several white diners in Washington, DC, on Monday night for not raising their fists in solidarity.
One of the dramatic scenes, which has since gone viral, was captured by Washington Post reporter Fredrick Kunkle and posted to Twitter.

SECRETARY OF STATE MIKE POMPEO addressed the Republican convention Tuesday from a rooftop in Jerusalem, where he was on a government-paid trip conducting diplomacy -- even though State Department employees were expressly told this type of politicking was prohibited. (Had HILLARY CLINTON done this, Rep. POMPEO would’ve been on her case.) TRUMP pardoned a man from the White House on television during the convention, and naturalized five others -- in conflict with four years of restrictive immigration policies. First lady MELANIA TRUMP addressed the convention from the Rose Garden, which she has recently refashioned to her liking.

This was probably not the goal of Bondi’s speech.
But she wasn’t done. She criticized Biden on the basis of “numerous press reports that have shown other close Biden family members benefited from Joe’s 47-year political career.” It’s an ironic charge to make in general, but specifically from that stage on that night. As she spoke, CNN displayed a ticker of the speakers to come: Tiffany Trump. Then Eric Trump.
There’s one last irony. Bondi took the stage Tuesday to criticize Hunter Biden for taking foreign money, even as she actively serves as a registered lobbyist for Qatar. That employment comes despite Trump’s promise that executive branch officials would be barred from lobbying on behalf of a foreign government, a prohibition that would seemingly apply to Bondi, given that the White House hired her to help with its impeachment case.

Yale Law Professor Jed Rubenfeld Has Been Suspended for Sexual Harassment
Rubenfeld is married to fellow Yale Law professor Amy Chua, author of Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother, and both wield power in the high-stakes race for judicial clerkships. In the summer of 2018, it was Chua who took to the pages of the Wall Street Journal to vouch for then–Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh as a “mentor for young lawyers, particularly women.” (That was before allegations of sexual assault against Kavanaugh were made public.) The op-ed noted that the couple’s daughter had been about to clerk for Kavanaugh on the appeals court, and a year later, the Supreme Court acknowledged Sophia Chua-Rubenfeld would clerk for Justice Kavanaugh on the Court instead.
The Guardian first reported on the existence of the investigation into Rubenfeld’s conduct in the fall of 2018. He told the paper that he hadn’t been informed of the specifics but that he had been “advised that the allegations were not of the kind that would jeopardize my position as a long-tenured member of the faculty.” Female students also said that Rubenfeld and Chua discussed with students hoping to work for Kavanaugh the importance of their physical appearance. Chua denied telling students that Kavanaugh preferred attractive female clerks or coaching them on how to dress in “outgoing” fashion for interviews, though a Slate story subsequently reported it had “confirmed the Guardian’s reporting with students who were present at the time.”

Many experts — including a scientist who worked on the Mayo Clinic study — were bewildered about where a key statistic came from.
At a news conference on Sunday announcing the emergency approval of blood plasma for hospitalized Covid-19 patients, President Trump and two of his top health officials cited the same statistic: that the treatment had reduced deaths by 35 percent.
Mr. Trump called it a “tremendous” number. His health and human services secretary, Alex M. Azar II, a former pharmaceutical executive, said, “I don’t want you to gloss over this number.” And Dr. Stephen M. Hahn, the commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, said 35 out of 100 Covid-19 patients “would have been saved because of the administration of plasma.”
But scientists were taken aback by the way the administration framed this data, which appeared to have been calculated based on a small subgroup of hospitalized Covid-19 patients in a Mayo Clinic study: those who were under 80 years old, not on ventilators and received plasma known to contain high levels of virus-fighting antibodies within three days of diagnosis.
What’s more, many experts — including a scientist who worked on the Mayo Clinic study — were bewildered about where the statistic came from. The number was not mentioned in the official authorization letter issued by the agency, nor was it in a 17-page memo written by F.D.A. scientists. It was not in an analysis conducted by the Mayo Clinic that has been frequently cited by the administration.
