Trump’s ugly new spin on Russia bounties actually incriminates him
Trump is now defending himself not just by claiming he wasn’t briefed on that intelligence, or just by contesting the significance of that intelligence. Instead, he’s declaring that the entire story simply doesn’t exist — that is, he’s suggesting no intelligence ever actually indicated anything like this.
Welcome to the United States of ‘Idiocracy’

An Ohio state legislator said, “I don’t want to cover people’s faces” because “we’re created in the image and likeness of God.” A Palm Beach, Fla., woman complained that masks “throw God’s wonderful breathing system out the door,” while a fellow Palm Beach resident denounced mask advocates for “practicing the Devil’s law.” A North Carolina woman burned a mask, complaining that it represented “nanny state overreach.” Wait till these freedom-lovers find out about speeding laws, seat-belt laws and drunken-driving laws, which restrict their “right” to get wasted and careen down the highway at 95 mph without a seat belt.
Why Does Trump Put Russia First?

June 30
Since at least February, and possibly as early as March 2019, the United States has had compelling intelligence that a committed adversary, Russia, paid bounties to Taliban-linked fighters to kill American troops in Afghanistan. American service members were reportedly killed as a result.
As a former national security adviser, I find it exceedingly difficult to believe that no one told Mr. Trump about this intelligence.

The virus didn’t stop a Washington socialite from throwing a backyard soiree. Then the tests came back positive.
Details ... the sum, though, is that many value privacy over others' need to know who is infected and who should be tested. Friends are angry at friends. The catering company employees are in quarantine for 14 days and unable to work.
Fox News Fires Ed Henry Over Sexual Misconduct Claim
The veteran Washington correspondent and anchor was one of the most prominent reporters at the cable news channel.
Mr. Henry’s former co-anchor, Sandra Smith, announced his firing on the Wednesday broadcast of “America’s Newsroom,” telling viewers, “After a recent claim and investigation involving sexual misconduct in the workplace, Ed has been terminated from Fox News.” A replacement anchor has not yet been named.
Meet the Supporters Trump Has Lost
A significant majority of people who voted for him in 2016 are planning to do so again. What is different about those who’ve had a change of heart?
These voters, who backed Mr. Trump in 2016 but say there’s “not really any chance” they will this year, represent just 2 percent of all registered voters in the six states most likely to decide the presidency, according to New York Times/Siena College polls. But they help explain why the president faces a significant deficit nationwide and in the battleground states.
Did Floyd Protests Lead to a Virus Surge? Here’s What We Know
Epidemiologists have braced for a surge of coronavirus cases. But it has not come yet.
In Minnesota, an initiative that targeted demonstrators found that 1.5 percent of them tested positive. In Massachusetts, fewer than 3 percent of protesters did. A positive test does not necessarily mean a person is likely to still be contagious; people can continue to test positive for weeks after becoming ill and starting to recover.
In New York, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo pledged in early June to dedicate 15 testing sites in the city exclusively to people who attended protests. But a state Health Department spokesman said that data is not yet available.
The virus spreads far more easily indoors than outdoors, and close contact indoors is believed to be the main driver of transmission, epidemiologists say. One study based on a review of 110 cases in Japan found that the odds of transmission were 18.7 times higher in closed environments — everything from fitness studios to tents — than in open-air environments. Another study involving a review of thousands of cases in China found only a single instance of outdoor transmission.

We know that children are less likely to catch covid-19 than adults. They’re about half as likely, to be precise, according to a recent study by the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) using data from China, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Canada, and South Korea, published in Nature Medicine. A survey of 149,760 people with covid-19 by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that children 17 and under, who make up 22% of the US population, account for fewer than 2% of confirmed infections across the United States.

Amid Virus Surge, Republicans Abruptly Urge Masks Despite Trump’s Resistance
Masks became a political cause for some in the early months of the pandemic. A growing set of Republican leaders are suddenly pushing Americans to wear them.
“The problem there is that the issue has become a political issue and people have lost sight of the fact that the enemy is the virus,” said Dr. David Persse, the health authority at the Houston Health Department. “People have decided that the enemy is some sort of a political agenda.”
Initially, many Republicans had followed Mr. Trump’s lead. But the recent chorus of encouragement on mask-wearing has come from all directions: on the Senate floor and on social media, from Republicans who are no longer in office and from those whose states are experiencing an alarming uptick in coronavirus cases.

By the start of February, the C.D.C. issued its first formal guidance on its website, saying that the agency “does not currently recommend the use of face masks among the general public.”

Popular Pro-Trump Digital Strategist Made Racist Comments on a Secret Twitter Account
Caleb Hull, a digital communications strategist popular with pro-Trump Republicans, made racist and inflammatory comments, including the use of the n-word, on a Twitter account he used as a video gamer in 2014. The account was deleted shortly after Right Wing Watch began reaching out to sources to report this story, but large portions of the account have been preserved via digital archives.
According to FEC filings, Targeted Victory’s clients include campaigns for high-ranking Republicans like Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and Sen. Cory Gardner of Colorado, and powerful Republican entities like the National Republican Senatorial Committee, which paid Targeted Victory nearly $350,000 for “digital consulting” in April 2020 alone.
he has bragged publicly about fetching more than 4 billion views online for conservative video content. In 2018, Hull was retweeted by President Donald Trump.
Washington Examiner awarded Hull a spot on its Red Alert Politics “30 Under 30” list in 2018 alongside people who would go on to become major players in modern conservative politics, including activist Candace Owens, Fox News pundit Tomi Lahren, and PragerU video personality Will Witt. In the Washington area, he is well connected in right-wing media circles and has uploaded photos of himself socializing with people who currently work at The Daily Caller, Townhall Media, and TPUSA.
Hull’s since-removed Twitter account was associated with an account by a similar name on Twitch, a streaming site popular among gamers; that account was also deleted between the time that we started contacting sources and when RWW contacted Hull via phone. Before the account was deleted from Twitch, it contained videos showing Hull on camera alongside the @FlwTV Twitter handle. Hull’s Twitch account had not uploaded a video since 2014, but it displayed a profile picture used by Hull on his professional Twitter account, @CalebJHull, in 2019. Hull’s professional Twitter account was also displayed in the “About” tab of his Twitch profile.
(Correction, 7/1/20: An earlier version of this article erroneously stated that Caleb Hull was a managing partner at a Florida-based political communications firm called Statecraft Digital, based on LinkedIn search results available at the time of RWW’s reporting. In fact, Hull owns a limited liability company (LLC) by the same name registered in Virginia. RWW also misidentified Rep. Adam Hattersley as a Republican; Hattersley is a Democrat. Right Wing Watch regrets the errors.)
